Planning Specialist - JHB - #576-11

Requirements:

Educational

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Tertiary qualification preferable.

Experience

  • 5+ years in a planning environment.
  • Experience working with ERP planning systems.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills; verbal and written.
  • Excellent persuasion and negotiation skills.
  • Strong planning and organising skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, specifically advanced skills in Excel.

Responsibilities

Data Management and Analysis

  • Ensure cleanup of data for invalid and old backorders, purchase orders, as well as stocking indicators.
  • Track aged stock movements, line details, and follow up on comments.
  • Track and push excess stock.
  • Assistance with forecast accuracy analysis.
  • Analyse stock levels through IBP detailed templates.
  • Detailed analysis to ensure data management of inventory.
  • Analysis and detailed reviews of forecasts.

Integrated Business Planning (IBP)

  • Strategic planning for Integrated Business Planning (IBP).
  • Work within IBP process from forecast to order cycle.
  • Implementation of long-term demand and supply planning.
  • Review and challenge motivation on variances of forecasts to align with financial targets.
  • Consolidating portfolios for IBP.

Automation and Process Improvement

  • Run the Embrace forecasting module, including all future automations.
  • Assist with automations (projects planned for planning automation in 2025).
  • Ensure continuous improvements critical to align with business strategy and budgets.
  • Ensure lean supply chain process flow.

Procurement and Vendor Management

  • Handle procurement for additional vendors.
  • Serve as a backup for the team in managing procurement categories.

  • This is an office-based position in the Woodmead branch.
