Before COVID-19 hit, digital transformation moved at a slow pace. The focus was primarily on processes, products and employee experience. Come March 2020, business leaders were forced to prioritise their IT initiatives and increase digital investments. Much has been written about the enormous changes in our working lives during the past two years. When the coronavirus outbreak first erupted and workers were told to pack up their desks and prepare to do their jobs from home, many thought it would be for a few weeks at most. No one could have predicted that 18 months later, a large chunk of the workforce would still be working remotely.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, a movement was beginning. People were asking, “Do we really need to be together, in an office, to do our work?” During lockdown we learned that many of us do not in fact need to be on-site with colleagues to do our jobs. It became evident that knowledge-based roles could be successfully fulfilled remotely.

With people continuing to work from home, at their favourite coffee shop or while waiting outside school, it is inevitable that laptops are at greater risk of being lost, stolen, or damaged by a liquid spill.
