It’s not every day that a company announces a leadership change, but when it does, it’s a moment to pause, reflect, and look ahead. That’s exactly where we find ourselves at Tarsus Distribution today.
After an incredible 24-year journey with Tarsus - filled with milestones, partnerships, and transformation - our CEO, Gary Pickford, will be stepping down as of 1 June 2025. For those who’ve worked with Gary, you’ll know he’s been more than a leader. He has been a driving force behind our evolution into a value - added distributor for the digital age.
Reflecting on his journey, Gary shared,
“Over my 24 years at Tarsus Distribution, in various roles, I’ve been fortunate to work alongside exceptional people, valued reseller partners, and loyal vendors who’ve become more than just colleagues - they’ve become friends. Together, we’ve navigated change, faced challenges head-on, and seized opportunities that shaped the company we are today.”
Gary’s passion, insight, and deep industry experience have helped position Tarsus as a trusted partner in the ICT space. While we’ll miss his leadership, we’re excited about what’s ahead for both him and us.
Introducing Emile Burger - Our New CEO
Stepping into the role of CEO is Emile Burger, someone who’s already made a significant impact within the Tarsus business. As our former CFO and COO, Emile has been instrumental in expanding our offerings, strengthening relationships with our partners, and boosting customer satisfaction.
He’s not only a qualified financial and business strategist (with a B.Com, MBA, and several prestigious designations to his name) but also someone who truly understands the importance of people, culture, and long-term value. Emile Burger is well qualified for the leadership position, holding a B.Com in Accounting, B.Com Honours in Financial Management, and an MBA. He is also a CGMA, FCMA, and CA(SA).

To ensure a smooth transition, Gary will work closely with Emile through June before taking the next step in his career. We wish him all the best on the journey ahead and thank him for the legacy he leaves behind.
