Tarsus
announces server OS savings for IBM buyers
15 June 2009
Tarsus Technologies has announced the availability of Microsoft's Reseller
Option Kits (ROK) with the entire IBM range of servers distributed by
the company.
This move, says Jacques Klopper, IBM product manager at the distributor,
substantially adds to the value proposition of buying IBM infrastructure
through Tarsus. Microsoft's Reseller Option Kits are one of the most
cost-effective ways for resellers to purchase server operating system
licences on behalf of their clients,” Klopper adds.
“In fact,” he continues, “buying a Windows Server 2008 licence using
Microsoft's ROK as a mechanism is 17% more cost-effective than buying
a standard licence through one of Microsoft's official distributors
in South Africa.
“A reseller would have to be crazy not to take this offer up,” Klopper
says.
“Not only is this a good way for them to make additional margin on the
sale of hardware, it's an awesome way to pass savings on to their customers,
and in doing so, secure their loyalty.
“We're proud to be bringing this offer to market and would like to assure
our resellers that we will remain on the lookout for similar offers
and ways to assist them in retaining healthy margins and building good
customer loyalty," he concludes.
